Online Nursing Degrees
Online nursing degrees, online nursing bachelor degrees and online nursing degree programs vary according to the focus of your chosen health care field. In general, most bachelor degrees in nursing are best associated with registered nurses and sometimes licensed practical nurses. And sometimes, but not often, in other healthcare areas and rarely in the pharmaceutical areas. Online degrees offered include degrees for RN, LPN, LVN and BSN. Sometimes they are called online nursing schools.
When choosing the best degree, one that will coordinate best with your field, determine the area of nursing in which you are the most passionate. Nursing bachelor degrees generally focus on the level of nursing you wish to pursue, along with a specialized area of study to help in attaining your ispecialized or individualized nursing career. The key to earning the right RN degree online or bachelor degree in nursing is to find a the best specialized area of study for your specific career choice.
Some of the specialized areas of nursing study include (but are not limited to) the following: adult practice, cardiology, cardiovascular/open heart, clinical nursing, critical care, emergency/trauma, general medical, family practice, oncology, hospice, employee health, labor and delivery, neonatal, women's health/ob-gyn, occupational medicine, pediatrics, and radiology to name a few. The working conditions of nurses could include the environments of hospitals, nursing care facilities, clinics, patients' homes, schools, various community centers and more. The type of work environment is normally related to the chosen specialization (ex. home health care nurses administer at-home care for patients
recovering from surgery or accidents while a critical care nurse works in the intensive care units in hospitals).
According to the United States Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for a career as a registered nurse is expected to increase 27 percent or more (this is considered "growth much faster than average") through the year 2014. The "registered nurse" outlook is used in this context as a general example of a possible position with a bachelor degree in nursing. This growth is widely due to the increasing number of available jobs and the need to replace experienced nurses lwho are leaving the health industry. It's also projected that registered nurses will no doubt account for the second largest number of all new job occupations.
